I stayed at this hotel between 04/09/09-08/09/09 and was very impressed with the overall quality of the hotel.The room,staff and food were excellent.The price was very reasonable for the quality of the hotel.The hotel is a fair way from the city centre but there is a tram stop near the hotel which makes it easy to get to the city centre in 15 minutes.The Finnair airport bus stops outside the hotel which is very reasonable and comes every 20 minutes.There are not many restaurants near the hotel and the hotel food is a little expensive which is a slight problem.

Have stayed at several Scandic hotels in Finland and elsewhere now. Some complain that they need "face lifts" but I found the decor and atmosphere to be just fine. Rooms are a little small, but have most of the amenities a business or casual traveler would look for. Where they really excel is the morning breakfast buffet. One of the best I have ever seen with dozens of choices. I would stay here again.

Although the hotel is slightly far from the central station or pier, it is very convienient to visit the hotel. The employees of the hotel are very kind and the room is very comfortable.

This hotel is old and tired. I booked a family room which was too small, leaving no room to move once suitcases and family were installed. I have paid less in Helsinki and got better, the fact that this hotel is recommended by Finnair is shocking. I enen picked up a virus in my email when using their wireless internet to access my account. I will never ever stay in this hotel again, over all very very disappointing and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Have stayed in this hotel many times due to its convenient location if using the Finnair airport bus. They have their own airport bus stop. The rooms are a bit dated but nice sized and have all you need. The hairdryers are a BIG minus - take your own if you need one. They are the 80's style dryers that were used only in public sport facilities. And they are NOT powerful... I only use this hotel when on private trips as its cheaper than many of the central Helsinki hotels. But for business I don't go there as its full of tourists and sometimes noisy if people come from bars late. The breakfast there is chaotic as there are lots of people who don't know how to queue. Also a colleague's handbag was stolen there at dinner in their restaurant by foreign (Romanian) professional thieves gang... Otherwise the service in the restaurant and food is good. If you are a gym-a-holic, they have a really great one right next door, but comes with a price tag of 15€ a day. If you like biking, walking and running, the lake is right next to it and the running and biking paths excellent! Also the sea is 500m away. Shops, quality restaurants (Carelia, Lyon, Elite etc) and attractions (opera, amusement park, Sibelius monument, Finlandia Hall etc) all in short walking distance. Play area for kids as well

Scandic Continental is ideally located, along the busy Mannerheimintie in the city centre, yet in a quiet spot so that the visitors' don't need to worry about heavy bar or nightclub noise coming from the neighborhood. As the building itself is pretty old, the hotel would need a bit of a touch-up at some point, especially in the communal areas, but I am sure this is already in planning. I found the reception staff extremely helpful; as I arrived earlier than anticipated (10.30am) I was allocated a room immediately, and when I told them my flight would leave in the evening,they extended my check-out time without any delay. Good location, great service - would definitley recommend.

no complaints. it was cheap and fab. 10 min walk to the centre.

We stayed here with our two kids. The location was handy--close to major tram lines and buses. The hotel and restaurant staff went out of their way to accommodate our kids. Our only complaint was that the pool was awfully cold, around 72 degrees. One hotel employee said that it was kept cool so that bacteria wouldn't breed in the water. I guess they're not big believers in chlorine.

Advertise pool however I was there for a week and the pool was closed for new chemicals in pool. Was not made aware of this before travel. Twin room looked tired interior was worn out bed was uncomfortable. this hotel has a fin air bus which stops just outside which good for arrival and departure. The room did not meet my expectation for comfort its worth spending a bit more and going to the Marriot next door

The hotel needs a major face lift!

Lovely room with a fantastic hotel. The only problem I had was that I didn't stay there long enough.

It was a normal hotel for a good value of money. I enjoyed my stay because the room was quite big and i liked the breakfast and swimming pool with sauna. I liked the location as well.;-)

We chose this hotel as they advertise to be child friendly. However, we discovered that it was not: - a playroom is located right opposite a main door, so if parents are in the bar/restaurant, potentially a child can go outside on his own. So you can't leave your child their unattended! Plus all the toys were very old, dirty and shabby. - The swimming pool was a disaster for us as well. Water was freezing (for a pool) and our 3y.o. daughter started shivering after only going in up to her ankles (usually she jumps into a pool with a lot of joy). - They promise that every child receives a present at check-in. When we arrived, we weren't offered anything. And when asked, they started looking through draws and fished out a pack of 4 crayons. That didn't look too welcoming! - They also advertise: "Sigge – our mascot, who the youngest children will encounter in various guises at the hotel". We never saw him? - Housekeeping was a disappointment as well: they took dirty towels away but never replaced them with clean ones. And never washed dirty glasses... - Overall condition of the hotel is a bit run down. It does require some upgrading and new furniture (e.g., the sink in our room had a big crack). - The one good thing about it was breakfast - a buffet with a big choice! - Overall impression - I wouldn't stay there again. We chose this hotel because it advertised as having good facilities for kids which it didn't. We would have chosen another more centrally located hotel!

I have stayed at the Scandic many times and each time the general impression I get is that there is not much done to improve the general state of the hotel and rooms. Carpets are worn and split, wallpaper is coming off the wall in places. Rooms are not properly cleaned and used cups and glasses are not washed or replaced. There is no coffee or tea making facility in the rooms either. The bar in the lobby is VERY expensive - EUR35 for a bottle of medium white wine. I never have a drink there. On the positive side the hotel is very convenient for my needs being close to the Opera house, no mkore than 10 minutes by tram to thew centre, and is good value. It also has a Finnair bus stop for the airport bus. Also if you fly Finnair, you can check your bags in at the hotel, and pick them up again at your destination. Breakfasts are brilliant! All in all, the hotel is a bit run down and needs a good makeover.

Hotel Scandic is a fantastic place to stay, all the facilities are excellent, the location is perfect for walking to the centre and the airport bus also drops off and picks up out sidethe hotel (the only stop and drop point for the Finbus) First class accomadation for city location. Breakfast included and the choice was endless. Fantastic!

bien situé,confortable,bon buffet petit dèj copieux,mais pas d'escalier pour l'exercice,piscine trop froide,mais surtout il faudrait faire un effort au niveau de l'accueil froid et sans sourire, tons secs et hautains,et surtout aucune hôtesse ne daigne lever le nez et dire bonjour, ou au moins pratiquer la politesse de base de saluer la personne qui rentre. En effet, chaque fois qu'une personne rentre dans l'hôtel , aucune hôtesse ne la regarde .c'est à la limite de l'impolitesse.dommage pour un si grand hôtel class

Ett minus: Restaurangen höll sig inte alltid till den angivna tiden för servering av lunch, tyvärr! Lunchmenyn var utsökt, och jag vill i synnerhet rekommendera Ceasarsalladen med kyckling.

Merkeligt høgt prisnivå i forhold til same rom med ei ekstra seng i juni 20., no var prisen dobla.

Eneste minus er at man med bil MÅ bruke hotellets garasje til €18 per døgn. Det er uholdbart at man ikke har et gratis alternativ ute!!

Bra läge, fint löpspår precis utanför, nära stan, ok pris, fräscha faciliteter och frukost.

Bra läge och bra parkeringsmöjligheter. Något hårda sängar. Utsökt frukost.

Hotellet trenger en oppussing, men det er helt greit til prisen. Veldig flott beliggenhet.

Situé en centre ville près de tous les services, boutiques, gare ferroviaire et routière, agence de location auto juste en bas, personnel accueillant, services variés (piscine, accès internet ...) et très bon petit déjeuner. A recommander absolument !

A szálloda nincs éppen Helsinki belvárosában, de az odavezető úton (kb. 1,5 km) sok-sok érdekes látnivaló akad. A szálloda jó, kicsit kopott (40 éves) de egészen tiszta, az ágyak kényelmesek, a fürdőszoba teljesen rendben van. A hallban 3 gép áll rendelkezésre az internet ingyen használatára. A reggeli finom és bőséges, este 6 után ugyanott büfévacsora 17 EUR-ért. Elvileg van néhány bringa, amit használni lehet, persze ha az előttünk ott jártak visszaviszik a kulcsot... A reptéri busz a szálloda hátsó sarkánál tesz le, illetve több villamos- és busz vonal halad el a szálloda előtt.

Något nedgånget och charmlöst hotell som ligger utmärkt i närheten av Finlandia-huset mm i centrala Helsingfors. Lobbyn trevlig och välkomnande, efter att man kommit in i det gråfula 70-tals bygget. Kall bastu, sval och otrevlig pool samt en oinspirerande trist solterass på taket. Utmärkt rum med en väl liten säng för två personer (Queen). Högt prisläge i Helsingfors generellt, men även så är hotellbaren dyr. Bra gym som är gratis för hotellgäster.

Flotte fasiliteter, flinke ansatte, god mat i restauranten. Gangavstand til det meste av interesse i byen.

Het hotel ligt net buiten het hart van Helsinki maar het is een prima locatie, aangezien het openbaar vervoer goed geregeld is. Het hotel zelf is zeer netjes en de mensen achter de balie zijn zeer behulpzaam. De stijl van de kamers is iets gedateerd. Wij hadden bijv. groen hokjes tapijt. De kamer was wel netjes en schoon.

Dette hotel har en god central placering i Helsinki og tilbyder en masse gode services for forretningsrejsende - specielt gratis internet! Saunafacilitieterne på øverste etage er ligelegedes en god feature. Renligheden var også i orden men bygningen bærer præg af at være noget ældre og slidt og selv ikke Scandics overordnede pæne og stilfulde indretning kan skjule at hotellet behøver en gennemgribende renovering for at være et hotel i topklasse.

petit-déjeuner copieux , d'une très bonne qualité ; personnel souriant et serviable ; intérieur des chambres de l'aile gauche assez vétuste , mais encore fonctionnel ; piscine et saunas séparés pour femmes et hommes au 9e étage , avec une petite terrasse de panorama sur le centre-ville ; hôtel très bien desservi par les moyens de transport en commun ( bus , trams ) .

Fint og flott. drar gjerne hit igjen.. god frokost.

Hotellet bærer preg av å være noen år. Virker ikke så moderne og nytt. Personalet i frokostsalen virket missfornøyde og foretok oppsamling av matrester og skittenkopper midt blant gjestene som satt og spiste.

såg framemot ett härligt morgondopp i poolen och såg att det ej var ej ibruk, vilken besvikelse. informera gärna om detta innan man bokar tack.

Super Hotel in guter Lage (Straßenbahn vorm Hotel, Stadt zu Fuss erreichbar), sehr freundliches und hilfreiches Personal. Wellnessbereich ist ok, Schwimmbad war nicht ganz so sauber an dem Tag und kalt, aber alles in allem ganz nett alles. Sehr umfangreiches und leckeres Frühstückbuffett! Zimmer sind gut, recht groß und gemütlich, wenn auch schon eine Weile her seit der letzten Renovierung.

Das Essen zum Frühstück war gut. Erhebliche kalte Zugluft im Essenssaal mindert den Komfort. Das Servicepersonal beim Frühstück dominiert mit unaufhörlichem Geräusch- und Bewegungspegel beim Abräumen der Tische und mindert dadurch den Wohlfühlfaktor. Ab 9 Uhr sind weite Teile des Frühstücksraumes nicht mehr verfügbar, obwohl die offizielle Frühstückszeit bis 10 Uhr andauert. Wenn man in diesen Teilen gerade noch vor 9 Uhr Platz genommen hat, wirds ungemütlich, da die Tische um einen herum für den Mittagstisch eingedeckt werden. Es erreicht einen die Botschaft, hier nich mehr willkommen zu sein.

Sökte ett bra hotell på lagom avstånd från värsta smeten, och det här ligger centralt utan att få ett centrums alla nackdelar. Svalt och trivsamt. Kitos!

Ok hotell med bra restaurang och nära till det mesta. Hyfsat lyhört dock och åk inte hit för spa-vistelsen skull.

Hotellet håller en god standard och har bra kommunikationsmöjligheter. En gedigen frukost serveras och bidrar till det positiva intrycket.

Blev besviken då utlovad tillgång till fitnessanläggning inte var möjlig eftersom den var stängd på lördag/söndag.

Rommet manglet noen små ting som f.eks. skobørste eller kulepenn, men i det hele tatt var det helt greit.
