Silken Gran Hotel Havana - Barcelona

Excellent hotel;very helpful staff;very good location; beautifully refurbished. Polished floors with no carpets so if you are noise sensitive be aware.However for us we would have no hesitation in rebooking when we next plan to be in Barcelona. Good local cafes available nearby for a light breakfast if you do not want to pay hotel prices.

This hotel was excellent..a great location in the centre of Barcelona but also a quiet spot. A few minutes walk to three metro stations make it easy to get to/from airports and further afield in Spain. A short 15 minute walk to the hustle and bustle of La Rambla. The room was very modern and had everything you could need although the hair dryer wasn't great! The roof top pool and sun bed area were a great escape for a relaxing afternoon soaking up the sun with amazing views. The breakfast in the hotel was very expensive (about 18euros a head) so I did not have any but there are plenty of local coffee bars around the corner serving excellent coffee and croissants very cheaply. I have stayed in silken hotels before and have never been disapointed. I am looking forward to staying in another one of their hotels.

This was my first time to Barcelona and I must say that the Silken Gran Hotel Havana exceeded my expectation after visiting Paris and Venice. The hotel is in a great location for dining. We were also in walking distance to get on the different tour buses. When I do return to Barcelona and I will return, I will come back to this hotel. At the hotel, I liked going to the roof where we had fun drinking and dancing once we got out the pool. I didn't eat at the hotel but my sister and friend enjoyed all the meals they had there.

great location,within walking distance of all the shops.bus outside the door and subway up the road..if you fancy going further afield..

Room wasn't ready at noon as advertised, nor at 2:00pm as displayed at the check-in desk. Waited until 3:45 for a room, and then it was on the smoking level although I had requested non-smoking. Paid a lot for a room I used for about exactly 12 hours (checked out at 3:45AM).

Great hotel in good central location. Big, comfy beds, extensive pillow menu(!), good power shower, nice food.

Rooms are really nice with everything you need.Apart from our first room which had an internal window !! They felt an outside window was an upgrade, Bizarre.Metro goes right under the hotel and even though we were on the 5th floor we could feel it,not fun at 7.30 in the morning

Very comfortable hotel with a good location (about a 5 min walk from the centre). Friendly staff and roof top pool (very shallow).

Booked 1 night in the Gran Havana in Barcelona while staying in Tossa for the week. Wished we had booked a few more. First class hotel with a nice but small pool on the roof terrace. Food was also excellent. Close to all the major attractions. Alsoa good plasma wall tv with some good free TV chanels!!! Cant wait to go back in September.

This hotel is very clean, modern, and centrally located. It offers walking distance access to main streets, restaurants, etc.

Walls very thin, heard noise from neighbors all night. Our room was right over a loud jazz bar; music and patron noise made it difficult to sleep.

We thought that the hotel was very attractive, very clean and in a perfect location near the Passeig de Gracia, and therefore, near every store imaginable, restaurants, Las Ramblas, public transportation, you name it. We thought some of the hospitality staff could have been much friendlier, but overall, we thought the hotel was great, and we would definitely stay there again.

Sehr zentral gelegen,man ist in wenigen Mnuten im Gotischen VIertel, auf der Rambla, usw. Einrichtung seh modern, etwaszu durchgestyled velleicht, Wasserkocher auf dm Zimmer, guter Service. Bar auf dem Dach ist Fr-So geöffnet. Der Pool ist mit 1 m Tiefe sehr flach, aber durchaus ok. Auch gratis Sauna vorhanden.

Ottima la posizione, molto disposnibile il personale, ottimi i servizi, un hotel molto comfortevole. Unico neo e' la piscina molto piccola. Alloggerei in questo hotel se tornassi a Barcellona.

La camera è spaziosa con letto molto comodo: il bagno un po' meno (è un po' stretto). Globalmente abbastanza pulito. Il personale è cortese e parla italiano. La posizione è abbastanza buona perchè in 2minuti a piedi si è sulla Rambla. La piscina: è come se non ci fosse perchè grande quanto una tinozza.

The room was spacious and clean. Large and practical bathroom except the bathtub which didn't have full shower door, so water was sprayed around during shower. Good selection of complimentary hygiene products including toothpaste and brush, comb etc. The room has large and comfy bed, decent work desk. LCD TV mounted on the wall and receiving CNN and some other European channels. It was very practical to separate the entree and the bathroom area from the bedroom with an additional door in between. There was a separating glass door between the shower area and the toilet area as well. The contemporary styled room was in quite good condition. The public areas have seen better days. Elevators for example would have been less shivering and less shaky. The pool was quite small and as expected shallow. But terrace was OK. You can get service at terrace, too. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the traffic noise was moderate but we had a room facing to the side street instead of the main road via Cortes. The waiting stop for taxis is just front of the door. Taxis are available mostly during day time. The hotel is 10 minutes away from Gaudi Houses, the main shopping street Passeig de Gracia, famous La Rambla. You may walk north to Sagrada Familia in 20 minutes and you may reach El Borne in 20 minutes by walking south.

god standard vennlig og bra service. 2 voksne to større barn-vi hadde to tilstøtende rom vendt mot sidegate. Lite støy, god plass på rommet. Fin innredning. Basseng og takterasse var fine. Forholdvis sentralt i forhold til shopping ( 5min) Rambla (10 min)Taxistand rett utenfor hotellet. God men dyr frokost.

Stort pluss for takterasse med basseng, velger jeg hotellet igjen senere vil jeg nok betale ekstra for rom med balkong.

Hôtel bien placé entre centre ville et cathédrale. Personnel agréable.

Super godt hotel og service Beliggenhed super i forhold til seværdigheder Prisen er god så det er et sted som vi gerne vil benytte igen hvis vi kommer til Barcelona

Jeg og min samboer overnattet fra Fredag til mandag i November 2008. Vi har begge vært i Barcelona tidligere og ønsket et 4 stjerners hotell med god beliggenhet. Beliggenheten var upåklagelig, kun 5 minutters gange til sentrum og 6-7 min til La Rambla. Metro L4 var enda kortere, denne kan benyttes til Marinaen og til Forum for de som ønsker det. Likevel ble vi veldig skuffet over hotellet, selve hotellet var fint, men noe slitt. Det samme kan sies om rommene. Jeg hadde akkurat vært på et seminar og bodd på et annet 4 stjerners hotell i barcelona og vi var begge på et 4 stjerners hotell i Valencia i mai, begge disse hotellene hadde mye høyere kvalitet. I tillegg var rommene veldig veldig kalde på dette hotellet. Vi forsøkte å skru klimanlegget på max, men frys alle nettene. Dette er ikke bra. Bortsett fra det var betjeningen hyggelige, selv om jeg etter innsjekking måtte ned selv og hente koffertene etter 40 minutter. Det ligger også 2 meget bra restauranter likeveld hotellet, det ene kan sies å være barcelonas beste biff restaurant, med biff fra argentina.

Un garçon qui vient vers vous sur la rue pour prendre vos baggages, un orchestre de très bon niveau, une réception aimable et efficace. Bonne location, chambre un petit peu petite mais c'était la seule restant avec un lit double
