Rica Hotel Stockholm - Tukholma

We picked "budget" single rooms so weren't expecting much even though this is classed as a 4* hotel. We'd read on other review sites that rooms overlooking the breakfast courtyard can get noisy so requested quiet ones - ours were high up overlooking a side street and were quiet and clean, but very small. Still, the bed was comfortable and good quality, there was a desk, free wifi was available, the room had air-conditioning (noticeably noisy, but effective) and the breakfast was great - wide choice, buffet-style, and a really nice open area to eat it in in the covered inner courtyard. I'm sure there are more luxurious hotels out there, but by Stockholm's expensive standards, this was a good price for decent comfort.

This hotel was very clean and well located near central station and in the center of the shopping district. However I felt it was quite expensive at the room was small, despite this I would stay here again. The breakfast was very good and in a lovely room. A little noisy at night but nothing that shutting the window wont block out and to be fair it is right in the center!

This hotel was well maintained and overall a good value. The room was extremely small, and if we did not travel light, it would have been hard to maneuver in the room with large luggage. The breakfast that came with the room was substantial, with many choices of good food. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the central train station and the underground, and buses served the area well.

Overall, the hotel was a good choice. The only criticism we would offer is that the room was a lot smaller than we liked and the room was not ready for occupancy when promised. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

My family and I stayed in this hotel last summer while traveling through Scandinavia by car. The place was okay for the money: clean and spacious but its location was rather remote. Choosing the hotel I assumed that it'd be easy to commute by car into Stockholm. The drive downtown was confusing and parking was rather expensive. In retrospect I wish we paid more money but stayed someplace more central.

We do enjoy the breakfast. The location is very convenient. Overall is very good.

We have initially booked the cheapest double bedroom but the room was very small for our needs (big luggage + baby cot). The staff was very friendly and let us visit a few more rooms to decide if we want to move. The location is amazing, you are 10 minutes from the Arlanda Express, 2 minutes from T-Centralen. There is a beautiful street market 100m from the hotel and there are shopping and eating areas all around. The rooms have decent furniture but not the most modern. We visited 4 rooms and all were clean and had a fresh smell. Generally all the staff (reception, restaurant, breakfast, room service) have been very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a very good choice of food and the breakfast room is in a spacious bright and well-aired inner court. The view from the rooms is not amazing, but it's ok. Most rooms view the inner court which is partially covered so you will not get the morning breeze when you open the window. The other ones point to Slojdgatan and have sunshine in the morning. I think they are refurbishing the rooms pointing to Drottninggatan, which will be the nicest view. Our friends said the hotel was VERY good value for money compared to other similar Stockholm hotels.

The hotel left me with mixed impressions. Rooms were small but I have seen smaller (Amsterdam). The inside courtyard for breakfast really added a lot to my overall opinion. Service was good, no specific problem arose. Best reason for me to choose the hotel is its location near Stockholm's center.

I really enjoyed the hotel a lot!! When i go back to Sweden i do plan on staying there again. This time i WILL NOT be using the hotel phone because its quite expensive. But Overall, i loved it!! =)

I have stayed at this location several times and have always had an enjoyable experience. It is a short walk from Central Station, and very centrally located for all activities in the center city. Rooms are on the small size, which is normal for Europe, but quite adequate. The breakfast buffet is fantastic.

Decent hotel,great location ( in the middle of shopping area), small rooms, good breakfast

This was one of the cheaper, centrally located hotels I could find and it was fantastic. The breakfast was great and the rooms were big by Scandinavian standards. The inner courtyard was a bit odd and kitsch, but actually worked quite well, providing a nice breakfast experience. I will definately go back.

The hotel is a 5 min walk from Central Station, and is convenient to all areas of the city. A great, central location. The hotel itself is well run, nice with small (normal for Europe) rooms, and a great morning breakfast. One thing I found interesting, of the 5 local TV channels, all offered US/British/AUS shows with Swedish subtitles, so you got to view them in their original english languish format. Nice place, I'd definitely stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the shopping district and at a walking distance from the old part of town. It is also very close to the train station.

Hotel ideally situated for walking to most of interesting sights. Breakfast very good in a good atmosphere in the central courtyard Winter Garden. Overall hotel very good but be aware that room sizes are not as great as English hotels, corner rooms overlooking Winter Garden are particularly small and cramped. Would go back but make sure of a well placed room.

Could not walk between end of beds and wall without walking sideways. No room for suitcases. No ice bucket. Desk service fine.

There was approximately 12 inches between the end of our bed and the opposite wall. We had to turn sideways and inch along the end of the bed to get to the other side of the bed. Unnacceptable!

Rica is a good hotel with a free wifi interenet access. Some rooms are even quite large. Staff is friendly and you can find a good selection on the breakfast menu.

The room was tiny but the hotel was worth the money and for 1 night it was everything we needed. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel location is very central.

My partner & I have just spent 2 nights at the Rica. The room was small but clean and comfortable. We didn't spend much time in there so it wasn't a problem. The room was also comfortably warm and surprisingly quiet for a hotel in the middle of a busy shopping area. There was a good quality continental breakfast with plenty of choice. We used the Arlanda Express from the airport which is a bit pricey for the 20 minute journey but it's a good service especially if you're tight on time. The hotel was then a 10 minute walk from the station. It was also about 10 minutes walk to Gamla Stan where we enjoyed a couple of very good meals (one at Trotzig restuarant). Try also Stampen - a bar on Stora Nygatan where there is live music most nights. Another 'must do' is the Vasa Museum - we spent hours there! Back at the hotel, there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room which were very welcome as this is a 'dry' hotel! The receptionist told us that the site is owned by the Salvation Army so they are not allowed to sell alcohol. (The only real downside for us!) The staff were very helpful and pleasant but checkout was a bit chaotic with lots of business travellers as well as tourists queueing (so leave plenty of time!) We would definitely recommend this hotel for a short break.

The only drawback is the size of the room, but considering that I paid for single occupancy, I guess I got the size of the room I paid for. The location of the hotel is great. Centrally located. Very closed to the Express Arlanda Train Station (just 5min walking distance). The service at the reception is excellent. Very helpful and welcoming staff. I really appreciate this. As far as visiting the the old town Stockholm, the hotel is also very closed to it. Some 15-20 stroll is all it takes, with lots of shops and restaurants along the way.

Hotel is very good and clean, the one thing missing is a dresser or shelves for clothing, there is not one place to put your clothes!

The Hotel Rica was well-located (about 2 long blocks from the Arlanda Express terminal)in a quiet area with a friendly, helpful staff and an excellent buffet breakfast. Easy walking distance to many of the sites of interest.

No porters -- a serious problem for oldr travelers like me and my wife

A great value for the money. I got more than I had expected. The room was comfortable, spacious and well decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Also, the location of the hotel is very convenient for seeing stockholm and accessing public transportation and the main railway lines.

This hotel is satisfactory, but it lacked a few items that would have made the stay better. For example, there was no coffee maker or electric tea kettle and no hand soap. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Overall, I would rate this hotel about a 5 on a scale of 1-10. As a frequent traveler, the small amenities make a big difference.

Jeg velger Rica Stockholm fordi det ligger så sentralt til- gangavstand til teater, opera, museer mm-og samtidig så rolig. Med Høtorget og alt det frister med, er det som å være i "syden". Nydelig frokost og trivelig betjening- et topp hotell!

Mediocre breakfast, small room, perfect location, good value for money

Pas mal situé mais très bruyant avec des chambres quasiment toutes faites pour les handicapés (douche à même le sol et siège en plastique, pas de baignoire). Petit-déjeuner copieux.

Er kjempefornøyd med Rica Stockholm hotell. Beliggenheten kunne ikke vært bedre. Midt i shoppingstrøket, kino og restauranter like ved, gangavstand til Stureplan, bussterminal, gamla stan m.m.. Fint og ordentlig hotell. Bra frokostbuffet. Kommer gjerne tilbake hit! Savnet treningsrom og svømmebasseng, men kan jo ikke få alt.... hilsen jente fra Bergen

Servicen var veldig grei. Hyggelige ansatte. Frokosten var ypperlig og det var god plass å sitte. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt og kort vei til buss og t-bane. Var litt vanskelig å finne frem, men hvis man leter på kartet før man drar, så skulle det ikke være noe problem. Det eneste minuset var at hotellrommet var litt lite for 2 stykker. Vi bestilte superior, noe som skulle tilsi at det var større enn et vanlig norsk enkeltrom. Ellers er det intet annet å utsette på selve hotellet. Jeg kan godt bo der flere ganger.

Det mesta på hotellet är bra, har bott där flera gånger genom åren. Det är dock för trångt i frukostmatsalen.

Hotellet ligger centralt placeret i gå afstand til de fleste serværdigheder og "havnområderne", samt shopping mulighederne.

Veldig hyggelig hotell som ligger sentralt i Stockholm med kort gåavstand til de fleste severdigheter og shoppingområder. Greit å parkere i garasjeanlegg rett over gata for hotellet til svært gunstig pris. Blid og vennlig betjening, som virkelig ønsket å hjelpe ved behov. Koselige rom med deilige senger. Frokosten var litt under standard, mens ellers ok.

Ganska små rum och sängar, men frächt och väldigt centralt med mycket bra frukost.

trevligt hotell med bra service och toppenläge. Parkering att tillgå på andra sidan vägen från entrén. Rummet vi bokat var litet och hade väldigt dålig luft. Fönstret gick mot vinterträdgården där luften inte var mycket bättre och luftkonditionering lät som ett tröskvärk. Nästa gång bokar vi ett större rum med fönster mot drottninggatan

Plussuden: Godt værelse, venlig betjening, god hygjeine, fantastisk god beliggenhed. Minussiden: I 2009 må man forvente gratis adgang til internet - også på værelset. Bollerne til morgenmaden var decideret gamle, tørre og næsten uspiselige. Det bør være helt friskbagt.

Hotellet er centralt beliggende - tæt på tæt på alt - tog, indkøb og ikke mindst Gamla Stan. Og så er der en dejlig morgenmads buffet

Hotellet var jätte fint och vi valde detta för att det ligger så centralt, nära till allt och det var så vi ville ha det.. Men tyvärr fanns det några saker som drog ner plus poängen rejält! I badrummet var det dålig make up belysning, min sambo hade jätte svårt att finna bra ljus för detta. helt obefintligt. På morgonen längtade vi till att få gå ner till denna vackra vinterträdgård och avnjuta en god frukost. Tyvärr var detta en frukost buffe´i riktigt dålig klass. Vi har varit på Prince Philip quality Hotel ute i skärholmen och den frukost buffe´n pratar vi om ännu idag. I mini baren var det inte påfyllt och inte städat, det var torra rester av "något". Hotellet ligger perfekt men tyvärr kommer vi inte tillbaka främst för den urdåliga belysningen och den "tunna" frukost buffén.
