Hotel Boria BCN - Barcelona

We really enjoyed our stay here, we stayed in a "Loft" which has a king (real king size) in the main room and two twins in the secondary room. It was more than enough room for a family of four. We were greeted with complementary cava (spanish sparkling wine) and chocolates. The hotel is very rustic feeling being in an old building but modern feeling. The bed was very comfortable, which I hear is rare in Barcelona. The lift is very small as other reviews have said and it is located up a couple of steps so if you are completely wheelchair bound this hotel is not for you. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The taxi may have a hard time finding it so bring a map, but if you are going to take the subway you are only a few steps away. The immediate area is quite seedy which is why I say the location is bad, but you are so close to all the night life of Barcelona, this is why the location is good.

26/29 March 2009 Room No 302. For our weekend away in Barcelona after days of research on the net we decided to book Hotel Boria. Our decision was mainly based on the reviews and we were not disappointed, what a fantastic place it turned out to be. *Very easy and cheap to get to, Airport - train - metro - 2min walk €7.70 return for two. The whole journey takes 20-30mins. *Could not be more central, everywhere is within walking distance. *Very friendly and helpful staff, quite unusual for Barcelona as we later found out. *Fresh flowers and a bottle of Cava, a warm welcome. Spacious apartment with functional kitchen (hob is not in use), we thought it could use more lighting, beautiful bathroom complete with soaps etc, tooth brush and paste even a disposable razor and shaving foam. Nothing of interest on TV, all in Spanish, good music on radio KISS FM 95.5 small lift barely enough room for 2 with hand luggage. Lovely terrace, you can get a glimpse of Sangrada Familia in the distance. *There is only one negative thing I need to point out that there was a slight smell of sewerage, but it is not unique to this hotel as you can get the slight smell of sewerage in some parts of the city, in some streets but i would say that is because of the old sewerage system. *Amenities nearby, 2 groceries, pharmacy, bakery, tobacco shop, fruit and veg market (3 mins walk) *Great hotel, beautiful city, strongly recommend both

For the rate that we payed, this room was a steal. The personel was very nice and corteous and made our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was very specious and convenient for longer stays - it included all the (mini) kitchen appliences you would need. Would definetly stay there again.

Family room offered plenty of space, the location is perfect for sight-seeing and the staff were helpful with directions and recommendations. Better than I expected for the price.

Stayed in the family suite. Very nice kitchen with loads of room in the suite. Beds were great and had a nice bathroom.

The hotel was very well located. Daytime staff was very friendly but afternoon/evening receptionist was not very warm or helpful. The smell of sewage was coming from the shower drain and sink. Not very pleasant. Minimized by closing the drains. Wasn't specific to the hotel as we smelled this on the street at various times of the day.

We lucked on Bornia Bcn last minute. It was a great hotel in a great location. You're on a very quiet, cute street right centrally located - 2 minutes to El Born and El Raval. The rooms were beyond our expectations, they were very nice, modern, and large (I live in New York, so my standards of large might be skewed). There was a full kitchen and extra private bedroom with queen bed (so easily you could have 4 people in on suite). There was a bottle of champagne, some chocolates and welcome letter waiting for us. The staff are very nice and helpful. It may not have some of the luxuries of the bigger (and more expensive) hotels such as a pool, gym, etc. but it's a great boutique hotel. Highly recommend.

accueil parfait , localisation excellente , esthétique et confort agréables ; ménage fait et draps changés chaque jour. Un bémol toutefois : manque quelques couverts et petit matériel de cuisine (poele et casserole); les plaques électriques ne fonctionnaient pas . Manquent également deux ou trois chaises et une vraie table our déjeuner confortablement) .Malgré les deux chambres , probablement difficile d'y séjourner à quatre personnes

nous (2 parents + 2 enfants, 10 et 12 ans) avions reservé la suite B pour 3 jours et 3 nuits. - très sombre : uniquement des fenêtres sur les ruelles lattérales avec pour vue des pigeons au milieu de leurs crottes - pas d'ustensiles de cuisine et le minimum de couverts (quel intérêt d'avoir des plaques de cuisson et une hotte ?) - pas de table ni de chaises pour prendre le petit-déjeuner (seul repas manifestement toléré) - coin toilette certes très design mais peu pratique (surtout en famille) - plutôt bruyant (cf ruelles) en revanche très très bien situé et personnel très agréable. conclusion : pas à recommander en famille

Ett fräscht lite udda hotell med fina lägenheter. Bra läge, mitt i den gamla statsdelen. Korta gångavstånd till supermarket, turistbussar, torg,restauranger,butiker,museér och andra sevärdheter. Lite torftig köksutrustning.

Nous avons séjourné dans une suite familiale au 4ème étage. Les volumes sont très spacieux et le design de la suite dans un style contemporain (bois, verre) est très réussi. La suite comprend une grande chambre-salon et une chambre indépendante pour les enfants, une kitchenette très bien équipée et très fonctionnelle. On peut y préparer le petit déjeuner (préparation des repas à éviter; le quartier regorge de restaurants de tous types et à tous prix). Il manque cependant une table repas car prendre le petit déjeuner sur la table du salon avec des enfants est parfois un peu périlleux. L'hotel dispose de 2 terrasses solarium sur le toit qui sont très agréables et conçues dans un style très contemporain (teck et verre). L'accueil est très sympa et disponible à toute heure. Un seul reproche à formuler concernant le ménage qui est un peu sommaire. Une adresse à recommander.
