Hotel Barbara - Barcelona

Hotel Barbara is a budget hotel in a great location. . The staff was great and the location unbeatable, close to Las ramblas. The only drawback is that the neighborhood, like most old town parts in cities, has prostitutes and unsavory characters. If you know these facts going in you will be pleased.

This hotel is in a great location, right off of Las Ramblas, and close to the beach. Great staff, very friendly front desk attendants. We also enjoyed the colorful residents of this neighborhood. The prostitutes that line the adjacent streets are very friendly, and are eager to give you a proper welcome to Barcelona. The police that monitor the area at night are much appreciated as the prostitutes tend to make a lot of noise after dark.

Really lovely friendly staff. Clean rooms, towels, bedding and bathroom. No problems at all with being in the red light district - we were never bothered or felt unsafe. Location was great as right near centre and all the sights and also the young, hip scene near the gallery and university arts faculty. Walls a little thin - the builder was a bit noisy first thing! Overall great value for 2 people on a budget.

My wife and I wanted a budget hotel in central Barcelona offering a room with a double bed and ensuite bathroom, and staffed by friendly, helpful receptionists. And we got exactly that. So far, so good. However, there were negatives which would make me think twice about returning to Hotel Barbara. Firstly, the bedroom was not comfortable. The bed was extremely hard - so hard it was difficult to sleep. And there were noises throughout the night from electrical equipment that we could never track down (perhaps it was a neighbouring room's extractor fan left on, perhaps it was air conditioning - whatever it was, it kept us awake). Most disconcerting was the hotel's location in a pretty unsalubrious neighbourhood, which led to us having to alter our nighttime route back to the hotel. Finally, a hotel is only as good as its guests allow it to be. And our last night was ruined by a group of yobs who had booked five rooms on the same floor as us and who kept us awake from the early hours until breakfast time. Of course, it would be cruel to blame the hotel itself for this final problem. But it would have been nice if the yobs had been swiftly sent packing. The hotel was a short walk from Las Ramblas and Metro stations, its rooms were clean and secure and the accommodation was nicely priced. The staff were extremely pleasant. But I think next time I visit Barcelona, I might fork out a little extra for a more comfortable experience.

L' hôtel est propre, le personnel est multilingue, l'hôtel est bien placé mais le seul gros problème est le bruit , les fenêtres ne sont pas en double vitrage et les bouchons d'oreilles sont obligatoires pour passer une nuit correcte

Ganske udemærkedet, rent hotel til pengene. Når du kun skal bruge en seng og ellers slendre rundt i Barcelona, er det ideelt. Du skal dog ikke være sart ved at se prostituerede, da hotellet ligger op og ned af ludergaden, men god sikkerhed og mulighed for at gå en anden vej gjorde at vi ikke følte os usikre.

Ok hotel, men der er INTET på værelset udover senge, et lille bord og et meget lille fjernsyn. Men hvis man som vi, er i byen for at feste og se bold og kun skal bruge et sted at sove, er det er fint hotel. Der er rent og personalet er flinke....

Hôtel très bien situé avec tout ce qu'il faut : lit, couverture, douche, linges,.... pour un hôtel de petite classe, il est parfait! Les gens de l'hôtel sont très sympas et serviables dans un premier temps. Il est très bien situé en plus ! C'est un hôtel idéal pour les petits budjets ! Le seul hic : j'y ai oublié mes lunettes de vue et pour les récupérer ce n'est pas une mince affaire !!

I booked this hotel because its cheap prize and some comment of the customers (like "It's very clean..ecc..). And It didn't disappoint me! Very clean, STAFF VERY GENTLE AND HELPFUL everytime. Plus: it's very close to the main Rambla (5 minutes walking)and it's located in the old centre of Barcellona. Great Hotel! Francesca

Greit , sentralt hotel. Ville sørge for å få rom med vindu ut mot gata neste gang. Vi ønket billig , sentralt hotel , med sengeplass til 3, det var helt greit. Vi forventa ikke annet enn et reint rom med bad, ikke et sted å oppholde oss.

Per chi non ha grosse pretese, è un hotel pulito, il personale molto carino e sorridente, l'unica pecca è che si trova in un isolato un po' "movimentato" da prostitute di notte e di giorno. Non ci sono macchine che strombazzano, ma il vociare della gente sotto l'hotel si fa ben che sentire. Io ci sono andata a metà gennaio, penso che d'estate sia ancora più accentuato il trambusto!

Das Hotel liegt wirklich sehr zentral, sollte aber nicht unbedingt von alleinreisenden Frauen besucht werden, da sich in unmittelbarer Nähe (Nachbarstrasse) der Strassenstrich befindet. Das Hotel ist von der Ausstattung, Service etc. sehr einfach, dafür ist das Hotel meiner Meinung nach etwas zu teuer.
