The Palace The Old Town - Dubai

The hotel is stunning and is designed in traditional Arabic style. The staff and service was very good. The location is great as the Dubai Mall is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The world's tallest building, The Burj, is opposite and the lake and fountains are amazing. The only slight downside was that there is still some construction going on in the area but there is no disturbance in the hotel. Also, i was given the impression at check-in that breakfast was included on the first day but this was not the case and had to pay full price for the meal.

My husband and I visited the Palace for a few days over Christmas and New Year and found the staff excellent. Overall the hotel gave good 5* service. Not avery top notch 5 * but very good considering the high prices that Dubai feels entitled to charge. Super room, excellent food breakfast very extensive and tranquil ambience.The building work detracts at the moment but to be fair we knew about that when we booked. When the lake development is completed it will be stunning. Good location because it doesn't really matter where you stay in Dubai everywhere is a £6 taxi away and in comparison with prices in Jumeirah it's worth the taxis! Great view of Burj Tower and new Dubai mall next door is good but pricey! If you can,go for the Club room option about 300 dirhams per night as the executive club is a sanctuary with lovely light nibbles all day and alcoholic drinks incuding Verve Cliquot between 6-8p.m.This saved us quite a bit as a very small glass of wine by pool is £12! Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Good things: Stunning hotel, less than 1 year old. Very impressive. Entrance is delightful and Palace theme is Thai/Indian style, with dark wood, marble floors, and jasmine scent everywhere. Basic room is more like a suite with almost everything you could want, and all have balconies. Lovely beds which you sink into and can't help but have a fabulous sleep. Room cleaned and towels changed twice a day, and bed turned down every night. Staff very pleasant indeed. Fabulous Argentinian restaurant! Lots of taxis always outside so easy to travel to and from. Problems: Service is slow, tea and coffee faciities do not come as standard in your room and it is in the middle of the biggest 24 hour building site I've ever seen (which we were not informed of prior to arrival) associated advertising. Hence the views are not delightful. It will cost you near £10 to use one of their (slow) PC's for half an hour in the business centre. Overall: Lovely hotel but several little problems. I stayed at the sister hotel over the road - The Address - for 2 nights prior to this and for a similar price it was much more spectacular, and also all the above problems were not encountered at all at the Address. I am sure that once building works are completed this hotel will be truly spectacular, and hopefully the service issues will be ironed out!

Idéal pour un séjour luxueux en affaires ou tourisme en centre ville, sachant que la piscine est superbe et que la mer n'est qu'à 20mn en taxi, comme quasiment tous les principaux sites de Dubai. A noter le Dubai Mall est à 5mn à pied de l'hotel ainsi que de nombreux restaurants donnant sur le lac artificiel face à la plus grande tour du monde de plus de 800m de haut !

Utmärkt hotell precis bredvid Burj Dubai. Var förbered på att omgivningen är en stor byggarbetsplats men inne på hotellområdet störs man inte direkt. Precis bredvid hotellet ligger Dubai Mall som är världens största och nyaste köpcentrum. Allt finns där. 1200 butiker, 100 restauranger m.m. Dubai är ganska dyrt men detta hotell var mycket prisvärt. Ett 5-stjärningt hotell riktigt bra (men dyra) restauranger.

pas d'eau chaude dans la douche; le petit déjeuner sous le son des marteaux piqueurs, vivement que la Business Bay soit terminée!
