Situated on the lively Las Ramblas Street in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, Spain, Hotel 1898 is a refurbished 19th-century property housed in the former head offices of the Philippines Tobacco Company. Guests are within walking distance of Rambla de les Flors, the famous flower-lined street, as well as the Cathedral and Moja Palace. The Picasso Museum, Olympic Stadium and Barceloneta Beach are all within two kilometers of the property. El Prat Airport is located 13 kilometers from Hotel 1898 and can be reached by car in approximately 25 minutes.
Guests can enjoy the rooftop pool's panoramic city views or visit the spa for relaxing steam and spa baths, saunas or massages. Fitness fans can work out in the on-site gym. During colder weather, guests can lounge in the solarium, swim laps in the indoor pool or visit the reading room and enjoy a book from one of the hotel's two libraries.

The colonial-style 1898 Restaurant serves a modern fusion of Catalan and Spanish dishes, while the 1898 Bar offers drinks and light snacks, including tapas and sandwiches. Business guests will find conference and meeting rooms that seat up to 300 people, and wireless Internet access and audiovisual equipment is available in the business center. The multilingual staff is available 24 hours a day to arrange room service and dry cleaning.

The six-story Hotel 1898 contains 169 guestrooms that feature bold and colorful colonial-style décor. Units are equipped with satellite television, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access, minibars, direct- dial telephones, in-room safes and slippers. The marble bathrooms feature televisions, bathrobes and designer toiletries.

Ohjeet

A shuttle bus runs from the airport to Plaza Cataluna O Liceu Station (which is a five-minute walk from the hotel) every 12 minutes. A train also runs to the same station every 30 minutes, and 24-hour taxis cost approximately 25 EUR per trip. The last option is to take the metro from the airport to Liceu (L3 green line) and Catalunya metro stations (L3 green-L1 red). Driving directions: From the airport, take the C32 and ollow the signs reading 'Barcelona-Gran Via-Clutat Vella- ort'. Take the Ronda Litoral (green sign) towards arcelona Port. Follow the signs to the 'Centro Ciudad/Las amblas', then take the Las Ramblas exit to reach the hotel.
